Ideal for vegetable and other edible gardens, works great for in-ground gardens, in raised beds, containers and pots; also great for lawn seeding and patch repair. Made of renewable wheat straw with enhanced seed filtration to remove most wheat seeds and other impurities. Consequently, due to the nature of the wheat plant, not every wheat seed can be removed at harvest. It conserves water by lowering watering needs by up to 50% and maintains stable soil temperature and moisture levels. Furthermore, it improves soil health by keeping it cool and moist, protecting the microbiome, curbing erosion and soil compaction, while protecting plants from soil-borne afflictions. Moreover, it stays in place without tack: cut and split in a way that exposes the fibers that then naturally stick together when thoroughly watered. It also enhances natural gardening practices, provides an excellent carbon material for your compost bin, reduces odors in indoor compost pails and makes a great compost to add back into your garden. With coverage of up to 20 sq ft in a garden (2 to 3-inch layer), and because GardenStraw is biodegradable, removal is not necessary.
